Do not use more than 5 words!
Words are automatically connected with AND, i.e. there is a hit only if each given term can be found in the record.
The hit set can be limited later on.
Searching takes place both among the names of authors, and the titles of the articles, however, the full given query is matched in both fields.
E.g. If we are looking for articles by Conran, John the title of which includes "plant associations" we may search first for
Query term: Conran, John
Result: 1 hit among author names, 0 hit in titles, alltogether 1 articles
Query term: plant associations
Result: 0 hit among author names, 3 hits in titles, alltogether 3 articles
Query term: Conran plant - NO RESULT!

Truncation and masking is also possible

Truncation:
Various forms of a word or term with different endings may be suitable for us (e.g. communicable, communication, etc.). In this case the ending may be substitued by the symbols % or * after the first characters (e.g. communi% or communi*).
Masking:
Masking is used if we wanted to substitue a character in the middle of a word, e.g. because it may occur with different spelling (e.g. in the case of foreign terms), or we would like to search for two different words (e.g. makro, mikro). In the MATARKA database you may substitue one or more characters (e.g. if you search for deve*pment you will retrieve hits with: development, developmental, etc.).
